There are currently 3.3 billion loyalty program memberships in the United States, which averages 29 per one household, according to a study from Selfstartr.
Number of loyalty programs per member rose from 10.9 in 2014 to 13.3 in 2015. 71% of those making $100 000 or more a year are enroled in a loyalty program and 76% say that loyalty programs are part of their relationship with brands.
Loyalty programs are highly profitable for companies. According to Selfstartr it is 6 to 7 times more expensive to acquire a new customer than it is to keep one. Increasing customer retention rates by 5% increases profits up to 95%. 75% of US companies running loyalty programs generate return on investment.
83% of clients say loyalty programs make them more likely to keep doing business with certain companies.
