Increased exposure and traffic, generated leads, improved sales, and loyal fans – those are the main benefits of social media marketing, according to the 2019 Social Media Marketing Industry Report from Social Media Examiner.
The newly released research provides some interesting insights on the ways marketers use social media to grow and promote their businesses. More than 4,800 marketers were surveyed for the report.
In their opinion, the top benefits of social media marketing include:
- Increased exposure (93%),
- Increased traffic (87%),
- Generated leads (74%),
- Improved sales (72%),
- Developed loyal fans (71%),
- Provided marketplace insight (58%),
- Increased thought leadership (57%),
- Grew business partnerships (56%).
Facebook is by far the most popular social media platform among marketers, leading the way among both the B2B and B2C marketers. Interestingly the declared use of Twitter fell from 62% to 59% compared to the previous study.
The most commonly used social media were the following:
- Facebook (94%),
- Instagram (73%),
- Twitter (59%),
- LinkedIn (58%),
- YouTube (54%) .
YouTube remains the number one channel when it comes to channels used in video marketing. It is chosen by 57% of respondents, while 50% say they use Facebook native videos.
