Someone just registered on your site? A customer has finalized a purchase? Or maybe he/she has exceeded the points threshold in your loyalty program and you want to send a discount coupon as a reward for engagement? Show your users that they provide value to you and use Marketing Automation for a thank you email campaign.
No business without a customer
You can have luxury, unique products selling for next to nothing, but without customers, you’ll quickly shut down business. A personalized approach can make the difference between someone choosing your offering or going to a competitor. Thank you email campaigns are a simple way to show gratitude and encourage continued use of your services.
How to write thank you emails?
First of all, don’t make the content and title difficult. The customer won’t want to read something written in complicated language, and if he doesn’t find “Thank you” there, he may even think it’s SPAM and that he probably got some marketing email. Specifically write what you are thanking him for. It’s also worthwhile for you to let him know what he can (or even sometimes must) do next. When thanking him for downloading the e-book, you won’t give instructions for logging into his account, but already for someone registering for the first time, such information can be helpful. Include personalization brackets, for example, with a name.
What is worth remembering?
- A personalized title will make the recipient feel important – of course, you can simply write an email with the title “Thank you for 10 years of participation in the loyalty program,” but customers are much more likely to click and read messages that are personalized. “Hey Anna! Thank you for being with us for 10 years!” is a small change, but it increases interest in the message and encourages people to open it. The title is best written in simple language with a specific indication of what you are thanking the customer for.
- The customer will feel singled out when they receive a special discount coupon – if you want to add a code to your message when thanking them, for example, for a 20% discount on their next order, it’s best to address the recipient directly and include a unique coupon. In iPresso, you’ll generate your own pool of codes and personalize the message, increasing the chance of further use of your offers. “Tom, thank you for shopping in our store. We have something special for you! With the code 03062025TK you will pay 10% less for your entire order!” is one example of a message you can insert as content.
- Choose from a variety of templates in iPresso – tailored to the occasion and context. You can also create your own templates. These will keep your content consistent in appearance and aesthetics. In the Drag&Drop editor you will select additional elements in a few moments.
- Automated campaigns will never miss an action – you certainly don’t want only some customers to get a thank you email for registering, for example. You’ll design Marketing Automation scenarios so that the system itself will trigger a mailing to specific people only when they perform a certain action, e.g. click “Send” next to the registration form and they’ll see a message that it was filled out correctly.
- Thank you emails should not be long – focus primarily on expressing gratitude. The recipient will not read a lot of complicated sentences.
- Send thank you emails right after an action has been taken – the customer will feel confused when he suddenly receives a thank-you email a week after registering.
- Don’t forcefully include links to a million pages – if you want to advertise something, subtly signal to the user at the end of the message that you have something they are looking for and insert dynamically changing content with activity-dependent recommendations.
- Set up a mailing to specific segments – a thank you for signing up for a newsletter is different in content from a thank you for placing an order. Separate customers who should get different types of thank you messages and create a campaign only for recipients from a specific group.
Summary
Thank you emails show how much you appreciate contact with your customers and allow you to build a lasting relationship with the recipient. They should be written in a simple way, with a specific message. It is best to automatically send messages to the segments in question as soon as a specific action is taken – this way the recipient will remember what you are thanking them for. With personalization brackets and dynamically changing content, he will feel individually appreciated and will come back to you in the future.
