In most cases, marketing automation is not something you can implement overnight. A whole process is involved, primarily when it comes to integrating your current tools and platforms with marketing automation tools. So, what should you take into account when implementing MA for the first time?
While implementing marketing automation in your company can take some time and effort, the process is not that complicated, and in many instances, it doesn’t require advanced coding knowledge. But let’s start with the beginning.
What do you need to begin?
The majority of our users start with a free trial. We encourage you to do the same thing, as this short four-step process will enable us to find out a bit more about your company. The first step is to provide and confirm your email address. This is important as this email address will also be your future login to our platform.
Then, we’ll need your contact details:
In step three, we’ll ask you a bit more about your company – whether you operate in the B2B or B2C model and whether you run an online store.
In the last step, we ask for your location, time zone, domain (you will get the domain.ipresso.com address), and password.
This basic configuration enables us to set everything the way you need so that your account can be fully functional. Once that’s done, you can explore your iPresso dashboard and see how everything works.
iPresso dashboard
After logging in, a Start Dashboard is visible, containing basic information about the account and information about campaigns and the most frequent activities among contacts:
This dashboard gives you access to the full menu (on the left) and basic information about your account and campaigns, including the following elements:
- Number of contacts
- Number of web push tokens
- Visits to the tracking page
- Last campaigns list
- The most common activities from the last day
We encourage you to devote some time to see how everything works and is organized. This way, you will shortly be more proficient with managing your MA campaigns. But before you get to that, you need to integrate iPresso with your other platforms.
Integrate iPresso with your tools and platforms
E-commerce platform
If your company runs an online store, it can be integrated with your marketing automation platform. Right now, iPresso enables quick and easy integration with six popular e-commerce platforms:
- Shoper
- PrestaShop
- WooCommerce
- IdoSell
- Magento
- Shopify
Integration with other platforms can be possible with support from our team. To activate this integration, go to the iPresso Integration Center, and look for the “eCommerce” tab. You will find several options here. Pick your platform, and click “activate”. Then, you just have to follow the process and enable integration also from your e-commerce platform’s side.
Here, you will find the whole process explained for WooCommerce.
Domain/website
Obviously, you want your website to be integrated with iPresso as well, correct? The integration is based on a so-called tracking code, just like it happens with Google Ads or Google Analytics. In order to get the tracking code for your website, you need to go to the “Site monitoring” section, click the expandable menu on the left side of the relevant website address, and select “get tracking code”.
The tracking code has to be pasted into your website’s code (for every subpage) in the header section (before the </head> tag).
Other integrations
iPresso enables you to integrate several communication channels, including:
- Text messages (SMS): You need to add an SMS sender to configure SMS campaigns.
- Push notifications: Here, you can read more about the configuration of web push notifications.
- Email: For starters, you will need to add a custom sending domain so that our system “knows” from what domain your emails should be sent. This significantly affects the deliverability of your emails.
Wrapping up
Of course, in this short article, we cannot analyze every possible option. That’s why we give you access to an extensive Help Center where you can find everything you need to set up your iPresso platform the way you want. If that’s not enough, you can always reach out to us, and we’re happy to provide you with additional information on how you can integrate iPresso with other tools in your company.
To sum up, configuring marketing automation is mostly about integrating our (or any other) MA tool with your current IT ecosystem. Both solutions need to communicate with each other and exchange data in order to work correctly. Once the integration part is done, you can switch to creating your first campaign!
